A "Love" Lesson

For some of us finding that "one" true love is a battle.

Recently through the loss of a family member I was taught an important lesson in love.

Sometimes things in life come hard. Such is this lesson in love.

My Aunt & Uncle had been married for 57 yrs. He retired from the Navy and they started a new life in a small Midwest city. My Uncle was the type of person that you did not have to ask to do something for you, he just did it.

For the past 6 months he has been fighting cancer. He never gave up that hope of being. Even when the Dr's told him he had little time left he never once complained about anything. He took it all in stride knowing his time was soon ending.

My Uncle lost his battle July 3rd. He passed away at home just the way he wanted to. My Aunt holding him as he took his last breath.

For myself and all my family it was sad to see a man widdle down to nothing. Many a nite I asked God why, why he had to suffer so. I never got my answer, yet I did.

What my Aunt & Uncle had was a 50 plus year love story. They raised a daughter, they have many friends, traveled the country and done more then most ever will. They never stopped giving to eachother.

The lesson I learned in this is the simple fact that we all can have that great love & happiness in our lives. The one thing they did that most never do is talk. They talked about everything right up till he left us. His last words to my Aunt....."I love you"

Lets all love a little more...
